 BREAKING NEWS:Liverpool's Carabao Cup prize money confirmed

Liverpool claimed the Carabao Cup on Sunday evening after 22 penalties in the shootout after nothing could separate the Reds and Chelsea in 120 minutes at Wembley. Kepa Arrizabalaga missed the only kick of the 22 after Irish goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher had put his away.

But the prize money Liverpool receive isn't even enough to cover their top earner's wages for a week.

As reported by the Mirror, the total prize money Liverpool will receive is just 100,000 pounds.

The total pot for the competition is just 200,000 pounds, with that being split four ways - to each of the semi-finalists. Arsenal and Tottenham, as losing semi-finalists, earn 25,000 pounds each, while Chelsea take 50,000 pounds as runners up.
